Mission Statement
The Special and Institutional Section of the
Nebraska Library Association promotes the interests of Nebraska special or
institutional libraries and their professional and non-professional staff. Our
mission is to focus on issues and needs affecting libraries in settings such as
medical facilities, legal firms, research institutions, corporations, government
agencies or specialized services within larger libraries.

Membership
Membership in the Special and Institutional Section is open to any member of the Nebraska Library Association regardless of the type of library they work in. Click here for information on joining. Click here to see a copy of our bylaws.
Programs
The Special & Institutional Section usually sponsors several programs at the annual NLA conference in October and often sponsors or co-sponsors a program in the spring each year.

- get information about the Section
- purchase the Nancy Pearl Action Figure (now available in a Deluxe Edition!) and copies of Nancy's books. (fundraisers co-sponsored with the Southeast Library System Friends)
- get your ticket for the raffle of a wonderful "library" needlepoint picture created by S & I member Carolyn Bennett. Proceeds to the NLA Scholarship Fund.

project since 2004 and was the first to work with the Nebraska Library
Commission’s searchable database. Hear
perspectives on digitization and those working with the Nebraska Library Commission’s Nebraska
Memories project.

Awards
The Special and Institutional Promotion Award recognizes outstanding achievements in marketing/promotion of services in Nebraska's special and institutional libraries. Winners may be either libraries or employees. For further information on nominations contact:
