Mission Statement

The Special and Institutional Section of the Nebraska Library Association promotes the interests of Nebraska special or institutional libraries and their professional and non-professional staff. Our mission is to focus on issues and needs affecting libraries in settings such as medical facilities, legal firms, research institutions, corporations, government agencies or specialized services within larger libraries.

Membership

Programs

The Special & Institutional Section usually sponsors several programs at the annual NLA conference in October and often sponsors or co-sponsors a program in the spring each year.

Attend Conference Programs Sponsored by the Special & Institutional Section

        Hear about Nebraska Library experiences with digitization and the Nebraska Memories project. Polley Music Library has participated in
        the  Nebraska Memories project since 2004 and was the first to work with the Nebraska Library Commission’s searchable database. Hear
        perspectives on digitization and those working with the Nebraska Library Commission’s Nebraska Memories project.

This panel discussion will present information about libraries which are housed in local religious institutions. Topics will include holdings and
            availability to the public.

Awards

The Special and Institutional Promotion Award recognizes outstanding achievements in marketing/promotion of services in Nebraska's special and institutional libraries. Winners may be either libraries or employees. For further information on nominations contact:
