Technology Workshops Available at Conference

Gateway Computers® has graciously again provided the 2004 NLA-NEMA Conference with 24 computers for providing our attendees with the opportunity to gain some competencies with Microsoft® applications.  Last year, we had classes on MS Word® and Access® and both were nearly full.  This year we are offering classes on MS Word®, MS Excel®, MS PowerPoint®, and MS Access®.  Our instructors will be Nebraska Librarians that understand the applicability of the software to library operations, and the price is again a very reasonable $10.00 per class.  Circle the workshop(s) desired on your registration form, and insert the amount on the line at the right for the number of workshops you want to attend.  If it is anything like the 2003 Conference, these workshops will fill quickly.

The schedule for classes is as follows:


  • The Microsoft Word® Workshop will be offered from 8:00 - 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 7th in the Cottonwood Room at the Riverside Inn and Robin Brooks of the Kilgore Memorial Library in York will be the instructor.
  • The Microsoft Excel® Workshop will be offered from 1:50 - 2:40 PM and after the Exhibitors Break from 3:10 - 4:00 PM on Thursday, October 7th in the Cottonwood Room at the Riverside Inn and Gayle Roberts of the University of Nebraska - Omaha Library will be the instructor.
  • The Microsoft PowerPoint® Workshop will be offered from 7:00 - 9:00 PM on Thursday, October 7th in the Cottonwood Room at the Riverside Inn and John Seyfarth of the Sump Memorial Library in Papillion will be the instructor.
  • The Microsoft Access® Workshop will be offered from 8:00 - 10:00 AM on Friday, October 8th in the Cottonwood Room at the Riverside Inn and Steve Hunt from the Plattsmouth Public Library will be the instructor.
