Libraries are the Heart of the Community:

Nebraska Innovation Campus Reception and Tour

Wed. Oct. 14th    6:30-8:30

2021 Transformation Dr, Lincoln, NE 68508

Come see firsthand how collaboration, learning and innovation work together to transform ideas into reality.   Tour Nebraska Innovation Campus, enjoy appetizers, a cash bar and meet and greet old and new friends.   We will have a shuttle bus between the Cornhusker and the Innovation Campus. Or, it is a quick, easy drive and plenty of free parking.

Join us for a tour of “uniquely designed buildings of quality construction that promote positive energy, foster interaction and stimulate ideas, collaboration, sustainability and innovation.” See firsthand their innovation studios, new greenhouses, the food program and their zero waste management. Visit with Lincoln and Omaha community collaborators: the North Omaha Tool Library/Artists Co-op; Do Space - the new digital library - to hear about their services, resources, and ideas; LPS makerspace kits, UNO Creative Labs and more.

Fee:  $10

(NOTE:  GPS does not always work if you type in the address- they tell people to search for Bob Devaney Center and it is directly east… or ride the shuttle and don’t worry about finding it!)

Exhibitor’s Reception  4:30-5:30

Buffet Gala  5:30-7         Cornhusker Hotel

Featuring the PRAIRIE GATORS:  5:30-6:30  Wear your foot-tapping, dancing shoes and join us for this all-conference Buffet Gala, with music from  the Prairie Gators.  The Prairie Gators are eastern Nebraska's Cajun music connection - playing Cajun, Zydeco, Creole, Country and Folk....a foot-stompin' hoedown.  They play on the street and occasionally get invited inside.   We invited them inside for great Cajun music and fun.

Wine Toss Fundraiser  5:30-7    Just like the Ring Toss game at the fair… but with an adult twist! Get 3 chances for $10 to ring yourself a bottle (or two) of wine. Any bottle you ring you get to keep!

Dine-arounds 7:15-9:00

All dinearounds are scheduled for Thursday evening, 7:00 PM, and are all within walking distance (1 mile or less) from the Cornhusker. All are located in the Haymarket and Railyard districts. Join a group of Nebraska librarians and try out some of the new Lincoln restaurants, or an old favorite!

Reservations will only be accepted in person at the NLA Conference Registration desk until NOON on Thursday. Limit of 20 guests at each restaurant!

To preview the list of restaurants and their menus, see the list below.  A print version of the menu will be on site if you need to confer with your friends.
