Are you an NLA member who wants to make the organization better? Are you a nonmember who might consider joining if the organization were to make itself more pertinent to your life and career?

The Nebraska Library Association is conducting a survey to determine our future directions for strategic planning and communication. Anyone in Nebraska who works in any kind of library or media center or who is a current library science student is invited to participate.

NLA’s goals and priorities need to change and grow as the organization changes and grows, and so it’s time for us to revisit those goals and think about our future.

NLA is a diverse organization with members from a variety of libraries--public and academic, school and special, urban and rural. We are a community. And so the NLA officers can’t just make up the goals and chart a course without help. We need to hear from you. We need to know what you--our members, potential members, and allies--want and need NLA to be. What do you value about NLA? What do you need us to improve on?

We’ve even got a bribe--er, reward--for everyone who takes the time to fill out our survey: a $5 discount on membership. In addition, there will be a drawing for one free NLA membership. (Members of the NLA Board and Strategic Planning Committee are ineligible for the drawing, but everyone who takes the survey gets the $5 membership discount.)

To keep survey responses anonymous, at the end of the Qualtrics survey, you’ll be provided with a link to SurveyMonkey, where you may input your contact information so that you can receive the discount code and be entered into the drawing. We took these steps to ensure that your survey responses cannot be linked to your identity, so please be honest with your comments and criticism.

 Survey is now closed.
